I picked up the AF Old Skools and got hooked on the better quality the Anaheim Series has to offer. The Vans Era 95 DX Anaheim Factory are part of that same collection that throws back to the pairs made in the original Vans factory in Anaheim, CA.
The 95 refers to the original style number for the Era. The shoes feature a glossier midsole and higher foxing than regular Vans. The standard AF box looks like a standard Vans box, but is more sturdy thanks to the bigger, diagonally cut lid. These come with the Vans Off The Wall tag, an Anaheim Factory tag and white laces.
These have a completely 10 oz canvas upper. There’s not much to say about the materials here except that the quality and construction seem tough, durable and overall good. The leather liner found on these releases is a nice touch and adds more comfort.
How Do They Fit?
These Vans Era 95 DX Anaheim Factory fit true to size. I wear the same size Vans as Air Jordan 1s and many Air Maxes, vs a smaller size in other retros from Adidas or Diadora. The ortholine insoles provide a much needed update that makes these comfier to wear for longer.
After my last Anaheim Factory pickup, I’m not sure why I would ever go back to regular Vans! I can easily recommend any shoe from this line over a similar, non-AF pair.
