I went crazy on Amazon and copped a bunch of Sauconys so be ready to see more reviews of this brand. This Saucony Shadow 5000 Blue & Grey caught my eye immediately.
There’s nothing special about this particular release with regards to collab or inspiration, just a nice colorway.
Light wash denim plus a grey top makes an outfit with these. You could experiment with a darker palette, but the safe bet is light colored jeans or khakis and a white, grey or navy top.
This color scheme is really dope and fairly unique for a sneaker. This shoe actually came out in the 80s but the tech is so simple that now it just makes for a great casual shoe. These are just a nice, lightweight, casual retro runner that you can chill in all day and remain comfortable.
How Are The Materials?
Suede and mesh with a leather Saucony S on the side comprise the shoe. The suede on these is not great, it’s a step above the sandpaper suede Nike uses sometimes, but still feels cheap and definitely not as good as that found on Shadow Originals. This shoe is about looks and comfort more than material quality, although I’m a bit surprised that they would give these runners the crappy suede and give the Original better suede (considering the Original was less expensive to get).
How Do They Fit?
The lightweight comfort found on the Saucony Shadow 5000 Blue & Grey is insane. The shoes give just enough support without being overly complicated, and the fit is true to size. I’m even able to pull off a half size down for a more “hugs my foot” type of fit.
