As a big fan of the quilted SD in my collection, these Saucony Grid SD Black & Coral are definitely a welcome addition to the collection.
I’m not sure if this is a collab or part of a pack but either way I’m stoked to have gotten them for a crazy deal!
I’m definitely feeling the colorway here, and I think playing off the black is the best bet. That said, I’ve noticed the orange on the shoe goes well with blue denim, so you could wear a lighter outfit for some contrast in the spring/summer time.
I can see everyone sleeping on these as yet another low budget Saucony release. No hype, nothing special about these. Except the fly colorway and dope materials which really deliver value. If you’re into sleeper hits, these are highly recommended.
How Are The Materials?
The materials are terrific on these. The suede is super buttery! I’ve heard that it’s pigskin suede but I couldn’t confirm this on Saucony’s site. While the materials are definitely a pleasant surprise, there are some QC issues typical with Sauconys at this price point. This mostly includes glue stains, stitching errors, and discoloration on the midsole and the rubbery wing flap parts of the shoe. Overall though these are easy to look past once you touch that sweet, smooth suede.
How Do They Fit?
These Saucony Grid SD Black & Coral are supremely comfortable. I’ve found they fit true to size or a half size down for a snug fit. The slope on these is great too, evoking the retro runner shape perfectly once on foot.
