This shoe model first released in 1983 and has been retroing constantly ever since! The Reebok Classic Nylon Chalk is another example of a fresh take on a really old model.
There’s not a ton of commentary I can lend to the shoe as it is one of the most basic casual sneakers in existence today. I personally like the offwhite look which made these kind of a no brainer when it came down to which colorway I was going to purchase. I think overall people sleep on Reebok Classics due to a variety of base-level casual shoes such as the New Balance 574 or Nike Roshe being more available and popular. Still, straightforward looks like these will always be available and rocked by thousands at any given time.
These are your basic off-white kick, so you can either go for tone or contrast. On one hand, you could wear some dark colors, but on the other hand lighter outfits can work as well. Get creative with what you pair with these since they probably won’t have enough flash to be the focal point of your outfit.
For the price, you might as well grab a couple of colorways of this shoe – you won’t be disappointed! I recommend these nylon versions as the shape seems to be the best on these.
How Are The Materials?
Rather than an all leather upper, which would be the OG makeup of this model, these go with a nice mix of suede, synthetic leather and mesh. The quality on these is good considering the price point. The suede isn’t lush but it does have a fairly buttery texture and appearance. Overall I’d say Reebok did a good job on these kicks with respect to quality and value. As a final note on the materials, I’m digging the exposed padding on the top of the tongue – it really helps contribute to the vintage look.
How Do They Fit?
The Reebok Classic Nylon Chalk fit true to size and are very comfortable! It’s tough to find a more straightforward shoe with a simpler fit than these. The vintage styling is strong, with a perfectly pointy toebox shape right out of the box. I can’t say enough good things about how comfy these are or how they look on feet!
