Shot Dowwwwwwn in a Blaze of Glory! Puma Blaze of Glory Athletic, that is! These aren’t the first Pumas I’ve reviewed, and probably not the last.
I’m not really sure what separates the “athletic” BOG’s from the regular kind, but either way these are an ill colorway.
These go perfectly with some medium or light wash denim and a grey, red or blue top. This pair is one where I pick one color and try to bank a theme off that in my outfit. Definitely feel free to play around with this somewhat patriotic colorway.
I think Puma are actually a widely slept on brand which is why I was able to grab these for way under retail. When it comes to the shape of the shoe, these are hard to beat! I barely had to reshape at all to achieve a nice vintage looking pointy toe. I highly recommend not sleeping on this model like everyone else and jumping on sale pairs – you won’t be disappointed!
How Are The Materials?
These remind me of a similar level of quality to the “soft” Blaze of Glorys I reviewed a while back. Meaning, not stellar quality but not terrible either and definitely better than that of GR’s found elsewhere. These sport a nice mix of non-buttery but still thick suede, mesh, rubber overlays/eyelets and a neoprene inner bootie type tongue. All in all I would say these are surprisingly decent!
How Do They Fit?
The Puma Blaze of Glory Athletic and are snug but comfortable. The inner bootie fit reminds me of some Gel-Lyte V’s or Gel-Kayanos from Asics. I sold these, then re-copped and went a half size down. They are tight getting them on, but fit very snug and comfortable once on foot.
