When one widly patterned Air Max 1 collab isn’t enough, you gotta get more! These Parra x Nike Air Max 1 are a collab based on the artist Piet Parra’s concept of the landscape.
Parra is a well-known collaborator with Nike, particularly on the Air Max 1. The shoes come with a special box displaying the full patterns that the kicks are based on and feature Parra’s signature logo near the right toebox.
As with many patterned kicks, these are surprisingly versatile! These pair well with lighter denim and a white or grey top, but also can work with a darker pair of pants. Even with a dark fit, I would still try to keep one light element in to help play off the white on the shoe, even if it’s just a layering tee.
This is probably one of the best AM collabs to release in a while. Not based on materials, but just uniqueness. I highly doubt we’re going to see kicks that look like this again for a while, and I had to grab a pair while I could!
How Are The Materials?
The materials are suede and mesh in a traditional AM1 construction with leather around the toebox. The white paint on the leather does seem to be very shiny, even slightly reflective. All the materials are soft to the touch, but the suede is the felt suede. Overall the materials are decent although not particularly premium. They do the trick but are not mind blowing.
How Do They Fit?
The Parra x Nike Air Max 1 fit true to your Nike size and are fairly comfortable. The shape is pretty good right out of the box, but of course I gave them a slight reshape.
