The Nike SB Dunk Low University Blue is a clean and subtle addition to the Orange Label lineup. While this pair technically released during the Purple Box era, it comes in the classic brown Orange Label box, marking it as a skate shop exclusive.
This release sticks to the formula that makes Orange Label drops special: decent materials, simple yet effective color blocking, and that unmistakable skate shop exclusivity.
The University Blue upper paired with a Sail Swoosh and gum sole immediately stood out to me, bringing to mind the classic Chun Li SB Dunk Lows.
These come in the brown Orange Label box, and come with two sets of included laces (light blue and white), both sporting orange aglets.
Materials
The overlays feature a smooth, nubuck-like leather, while the underlays use a slightly rougher suede that adds some texture and contrast. I guess the overlays could be actual nubuck, tough to tell on SB’s these days. It seems like they go out of their way to trick you a bit with the materials sometimes. While not the absolute softest materials used on an SB Dunk, they still feel premium and well-constructed.
Fit & Comfort
Like most SB Dunks, the fit runs snug at true to size. If you prefer a little more room, going up half a size is the move. The Zoom Air cushioning is standard—nothing too plush but still comfortable enough for long skate sessions or casual wear.
If these are sold out in skate shops or online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
