The Nike SB Dunk Low Chameleon is a wild and creative take on the classic SB silhouette. This special collaboration with pro skater Alexis Sablone arrives in the white box, marking it as a standout release—even though it technically falls within the Purple Box era.
The defining feature here is the lizard-like textured upper, which starts in a mottled green and wears away over time to reveal a pinkish-purple layer underneath. It’s a cool nod to a chameleon’s color-changing abilities. There’s also a cloud-like outline wrapping around the Swoosh.
Branding details are everywhere—”Chameleon” is stitched under the Nike SB logo on the tongue tag, while the insoles feature Alexis Sablone’s initials. There’s also a rubberized “AS” logo on the heel panel and a chameleon graphic hidden on the inside tongue tag. A semi-translucent outsole adds a clean finishing touch.
I wasn’t sure how I felt about these at first, but seeing them in person changed my mind fast. My local skate shop had one last pair on display—my size—and as soon as my paycheck hit, I had to scoop them up. The textured, color-shifting upper and the subtle branding details make this a super unique addition to the SB lineup.
Nike included three sets of SB laces with these. You get a green pair to match the upper, a purple set to mirror the worn-down layer, and a white pair that complements the tongue and underlays.
Materials
The materials on these feel solid across the board. The upper is almost entirely leather with that unique lizard-textured finish, while the underlays are smooth white leather. The Swoosh is a rough suede, adding a little contrast to the otherwise sleek design. The leather feels a bit nicer than your average SB Dunk, and overall, the quality holds up to the expectations of a special collab like this.
Fit & Comfort
Like most SB Dunks, these fit snug at true to size. If you prefer a little more wiggle room, going up half a size is a safe bet. The Zoom Air cushioning in the heel provides decent comfort—perfectly fine for everyday wear or skating.
If these are sold out in skate shops or online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
