Nike SB Dunk Low Burnt Sunrise Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector.

The Nike SB Dunk Low Burnt Sunrise is a general release from 2024 with a simple, straightforward colorway. I’ve have recently been feeling some of these “slept on” SB Dunk releases.

This shoe gets its name from the colorway and doesn’t have any obvious other inspiration. Much like other GRs (general releases) from the past, it’s the colorway and materials that make the shoe interesting.

Personally, I’m loving the brownish/reddish/orange upper and the dark shade of green that almost looks black or dark grey in some pics. The gum midsole/outsole adds to that and helps these stand out from other GRs.

This pair comes from the Purple Box series. It includes two sets of SB laces; orange to match the upper and green to match the swoosh.

Materials

The design keeps things straightforward, with suede taking center stage. As expected, the upper is covered in a sleek, smooth suede. While it doesn’t have an overly long nap, it still feels soft and premium. In my opinion, the material quality is solid!

Fit & Comfort

Like most SB Dunks, this pair is close-fitting at true to size, thanks to the construction. The padded upper and tongue offers a snug feel, but the suede materials make it feel less restrictive than usual. In order to counteract this, I go up half a size in SB Dunks generally speaking.

The suede uppers add to the comfort, offering a softer and more flexible feel compared to regular leather. This helps improve the overall fit while minimizing stiffness right out of the box.

When it comes to the Zoom Air cushioning, it’s not particularly noticeable during casual wear. That said, the support holds up well for walking or standing, making these a solid option for everyday use.

If these are sold out in skate shops or online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
