I’ve picked up a few thin tongue SB dunks lately while trying to expand my repertoire a bit. These Nike Dunk SB Low IW Perfect Pink certainly fit the bill as they are part of the IW line.
These also seem slimmed down all over, rather than the extra ankle padding found on TRD releases. They get their name from the colorway.
While ABE (All Black Everything) could work with these, the mostly light grey upper should go well with light wash denim and a grey top for a basic fit that works in spring and summer. The pink is minimal on these, so I would mostly play off the greys used on the shoe. This should allow the small amount of pink to pop a little harder on the outfit.
I think what it ultimately comes down to is I have to look at dunks like these as a different model altogether from the SB’s I’m used to. That way my mind doesn’t set up unfair comparisons! Good thing I tried that here, as I’m really happy with this pickup and look forward to more sleeper hits like these!
How Are The Materials?
The materials are actually good on these! When I saw pictures online, the suede looked good and really helped tipped the scales on me getting these. While the dark grey swoosh suede is merely ok, the rest of the upper is covered in a thick, rugged, yet somehow soft light grey suede. These even have a suede/leather “smell” to them that overpowers the glue smell typically found on most Nikes. You won’t be transported to the silver box days with these, but they are definitely good for a modern release.
How Do They Fit?
These Nike Dunk SB Low IW Perfect Pink fit true to size, despite the lack of padding. While these don’t evoke the same “look” on feet as a traditional dunk, they are comfortable and have a look all their own!
