When Nike SB dropped, the Nike Dunk Low SB Gino were among the first to hit stores.
It is debatable whether these or the Supas came first, although many give it up to Supas for being the first official dunk SB’s. The stand out feature of these is probably the perforations on the toebox and sidepanel – these were designed by Gino Iannucci and now when a dunk low SB drops with extra perforations, they are often referred to as Ginos.
These are harder to match up that I had thought they would be. The shoe is not 100% black, so they have a bit of an odd look on foot depending on the outfit. I figure a dark top with some black and another color and a layering tee in white over some dark jeans are the best way to break up the mostly black look and still have it all go together.
The Nike Dunk Low SB Gino is definitely a historic pair and an all time classic! One day I’ll have to get it in my actual size so that I don’t have to choke the laces as much but regardless I’m happy to have them in my collection!
How Are The Materials?
The bulk of the shoe is leather and suede. Like other orange box dunks, the suede is definitely buttery to this day and the leather is of a good smooth texture. Overall the quality is excellent and materials fiends will definitely be pleasantly surprised by these. Up close, the shoe is anything but plain thanks to the materials and perforations.
How Do They Fit?
The Nike Dunk Low SB Gino should fit true to size for me. So if you’re thinking they look kind of big on me, they are. The tongue straps hold these right in place. The comfort on these first dunk SB’s also really blows everything out of the water that has released since.
