From what I understand, the Nike Dunk Low SB Blue Moon get their inspiration from the phrase “once in a blue moon”.
These feature an all-suede upper that is all blue, except for somewhat visible bits of darker blue/black subtly splattered throughout the shoe to mirror the appearance of our crater-marked moon. These also have a crater graphic on the insole.
I copped thanks to the clear blue sole and all blue suede upper that reminds me of the old pro b dunk low “Smurf”. Seeing as Smurfs are really hard to come by, especially for a reasonable price, these are a good substitute and brand new, thus easier to find at retail. The blue suede upper is really eye-catching in person and the construction on these is definitely good looking.
Quality-wise, the suede isn’t anything to write home about, however that’s to be expected on a newer release. That said, these are definitely on par with recent drops. Also, the fit on these is the typical “stiff and narrow” fit that newer SB’s have, so true to size or half size up is the way to go on these. These are still really comfortable though, provided you’re in the right size.
