Nike has made it a custom to release various Black History Month shoes with a similar theme between models each year. This year’s Nike Dunk Low SB BHM released alongside several other pairs with the same types of designs and features in the black and white color scheme.
Nike SB tapped team skater Theotis Beasley for help in the overall look of the shoe, which is loaded with details that really make the shoe pop. The most obvious special elements would be the kente pattern on the upper rear of the shoe, along with the 3M-lined perforations in various patterns that really help this shoe catch the eye. In addition, the shoe sports a BHM label on the tongue tag and insole, black plastic deubré and both white and black rope laces with black metallic aglets.
The shoe has an all-leather upper (very thick, smooth and buttery) except for the stitched pattern on the back.
With respect to comfort, these are fairly average for a relatively modern Nike SB. If you find SB Dunks to be snug, you wouldn’t be the only one. In this case, going up a half size from your normal true size can be helpful.
They came with white and grey laces, but besides that no extras.
