It’s been a while since I copped some SB dunks, but these Nike Dunk Low SB Asphalt / Road Map were too dope to pass up.
Of course, I waited until these could be had at a discount before making my move. At this point, clearance prices are inevitable for most SB’s and the patient are rewarded.
These get their nickname(s) from the elephant print that covers the bulk of the shoe which is meant to resemble roads on a map. The real reason I copped these though is because the sneaker reminds me of the Air Jordan 3 “Flip”. The Flips are a AJ3 retro that basically are covered in elephant print, and I think it’s an even better look on a dunk. The white and gum combination of course is an additional positive for the shoe.
How Are The Materials?
The materials on these appear to be typical elephant print nubuck. These also feature smooth synthetic leather on the swoosh and upper rear. The quality seems decent for a pair of GR SB dunks. The shoe has a nice solid feel to it and I’m not seeing any loose stitching, paint errors on the midsole or glue marks. Overall, the quality seems about spot on at the sale price I got them for.
How Do They Fit?
The Nike Dunk Low SB Asphalt fit true to size and are decently comfortable. Like other recent SB’s, the shoes seem a bit stiff at first. After wearing these a bit, the outside stays holding its shape, but the inside breaks in decently. I wouldn’t recommend walking around in these for extended periods of time, but for hanging out these are great. I definitely recommend these for any fans of both SB’s and elephant print.
