Nike Dunk Low Miami Dolphins Review

By Anthony Levine, longtime sneaker collector.

I love the classic white / teal / orange type colorways. I’ve reviewed a few Dolphins-related pairs on this site! Speaking of Miami colorways, here we have the Nike Dunk Low Miami Dolphins.

I used to have the Brazil-exclusive Dolphins SB’s that released in the 2000s. I sold that sneaker a while ago. A regrettable sale, and since then, I’ve wanted another sneaker just like them. I even made a Nike ID (now called “Nike By You”) of the colorway on a pair of Air Max 1s back in the day.

If it isn’t obvious by now, these kicks get their nickname from the color scheme, which closely resembles that of the NFL team. These basic GR (general release) Dunks aren’t touching the SBs. However, they do look sharp in this color scheme.

The quality is similar to other Dunks at this price point. The sneaker comes laced with regular white laces in a plain orange Nike box. Definitely no frills to be found here.

Materials

Similar to other recent Dunks I’ve picked up, these are made of a thin, shiny-smooth leather that does not pretend to be anything else but completely synthetic. This is definitely not a shoe you get because of “materials”. That said, I don’t mind the look as much as some other collectors. I definitely prefer this to the “overtumble” that takes over some pairs of Nikes.

Fit & Comfort

These have a fairly roomy fit. The materials here are a bit stiff at first, but should break in fairly quickly. If you are the type to fret over creases, these will probably crease within a few wears. Personally, I’m not bothered by this, but I know some are.

I go for true to size when basic Nikes like these. If you find Nikes to fit narrow, consider going up by half a size. I think the toebox is probably the roomiest part of the shoe. Of course, if you’re used to this type of sneaker already, you already know how they’ll feel.

These have a simple midsole and outsole and lack any specific tech. No React, Nike Air, Zoom Air or anything like that. Still, the comfort underfoot is ok for casual wear and they look good on feet.
