I’ve just reviewed the UNLV dunks, and while the colorway is spot on, the quality is basic at best. This time, we’re looking at these Nike Dunk Low Hyper Cobalt, essentially a palette swap of the UNLV.
For me, the “hyper cobalt” shade of blue juxtaposed against the black makes this shoe stand out.
These come in a plain orange Nike Sportswear box with some blue stretchy laces with very light speckling. That’s it. Not a single other extra.
Nike knows they don’t need to put much effort into these type of releases anymore.
While the quality is super basic, I’m still glad I have this colorway represented in the collection. I can recommend this shoe to serious dunk fans, but those that want a more premium pair from Nike should probably look elsewhere.
How Are The Materials?
The upper is basically all leather except for the nylon tongue. Quality here is super basic, with the smooth leather having an almost plastic feel and stiffness to it. Still, I didn’t get this shoe for the materials and I wasn’t expecting a lot. While it would have been nice to get something a little more premium, this shoe is strictly for dunk fans who want this colorway on a dunk.
How Do They Fit?
These Nike Dunk Low Hyper Cobalt fit true to size for me. Ordinarily I get a size 9.5 in 99% of Nikes, and I got that for these as well. These are a bit stiff and the material is relatively thin, and as such the fit winds up being slightly roomy at true to size, but not to the degree that I felt safe sizing down. They are still fairly comfy, just nothing special. Regular dunks don’t have midsole tech in them. One would get this colorway as a fan of the model or vintage aesthetic, and not for next-level fit.
