The Nike Dunk Low Brazil originally released in 2001, and retro’d in 2020. I missed out on the retro back then, but didn’t feel pressed about it because I had the 2003 Brazil Highs in my stacks. Those don’t see a lot of wear these days thanks to my preference of low tops. Luckily, Nike decided to re-retro the Brazil lows for 2024!
These kicks get their nickname thanks to the bold yellow and green colors found on the Brazilian flag.
I fortunately grabbed these on SNKRS, which is amazing, since besides the recent Curry Dunk release, I haven’t won a sneaker on there since 2021!
These come in a plain orange Nike box with some basic white laces, and that’s it. No frills on this release.
The box label shows these sneakers as an SP release which generally translates to some differences between these and lower-tier “retro” releases. Quality has improved on these slightly, and the shape is a bit less sleek and a bit boxier.
Materials
If you don’t like the bigger toebox cut, don’t worry! The softer leather is more likely to break in and conform to your foot than other recent general release Dunks I’ve picked up. While the quality is not amazing, I think most Dunk fans will be pleased overall with the leather on the upper here.
Fit & Comfort
These have the roomy fit typical on a non-SB Nike Dunk. As far as step-in comfortability, the materials are fairly good for this price point. The softer the material, the faster the upper breaks in. In this case, the sneaker was comfy to me right away.
I go for true to size with non-SB releases like these. If you are used to wearing Dunks, you already have some idea how these will feel underfoot. I would not expect to be blown away by next-level comfort. However, the sneakers should be comfortable enough for wearing around for a few hours at a time.
If these are sold out in stores, you can try looking for them on eBay.
