I’ve reviewed a number of Premier collabs on this blog. After all this time, I’m finally getting around to reviewing these Nike Dunk High SB Premier SE!
This version is the more “exclusive” pair, easily recognizable by the “P” embroidery towards the outer rear of the shoe. Other versions do not have this marking. These follow the “Petoskey stone” influence found on their previous dunk low collab, seen here in the pattern on the upper rear of the shoe and the insole graphic. These come with some reflective rope laces and feature Premier’s logo on the tongue tag.
Since these are grey kicks with ever so subtle light blue hits, they look great with either black or very light wash denim. Pair that up with some grey or white up top and you’re good to go! Basically, sticking with black and grey with these will take you a long way as the shoe exudes a “winter” look.
I almost sold these but wound up keeping them. I think most people are sleeping on these to this day, but the shoe packs a lot of features and is really impressive in hand. I think if these had come out as a pink or black box, more hype would surround the shoe. As far as collabs go, these take it to the next level with all the branding and extra features found on the shoe. Definitely try and find the version with the “P” embroidery for the full experience with these.
How Are The Materials?
The materials include leather and wool. The wool even makes it’s way into the ankle liner! The black leather is textured while the white leather is smooth. Around the upper rear petoskey print there is a 3M reflective material that reveals the print in bright light. I can’t say that the leather is good quality – it’s stiff and average at best. The wool feels soft and definitely makes the shoe warmer. Overall I’d say the materials are decent for a teal box release. Not mind-blowing, but definitely interesting.
How Is The Fit?
The Nike Dunk High SB Premier overall fits true to size and is very stiff. The shoe is I believe meant to emulate a winter boot to some degree, so the stiffness is on purpose here. That said, the wool toebox is flexible and eventually these break in to be fairly comfy. Obviously, you could do better on comfort, but these aren’t bad for a more rugged winter shoe.
