The early 2000s are a transition time from dunks being basketball shoes to being more of a lifestyle shoe. Before SB’s had really come out, pairs like the Nike Dunk High Celtic were already using oval SB laces and releasing in increasing colorways.
This particular pair takes it’s name from the colorway although I’ve also heard these referred to as Clover dunks.
White and green can actually be an awkward combination to match up to an outfit. I prefer to not match these at all and instead go with neutral tones to balance out the look. For example, today I’m wearing a black on black Supreme longsleeve with a grey elongated tee layered beneath along with the jeans shown. I avoid anything with green on it when I wear these unless it’s St. Patrick’s Day!
How Are The Materials?
Just like other dunks from 2002, the leather on these is superb! These also do away with the nylon tongues used on older dunks and opt for a more SB-like mesh tongue. All in all, dunks from this era are a blessing for those that want simple and classic good quality materials.
How Do They Fit?
The Nike Dunk High Celtic fit true to size and are really comfortable. All these need is zoom air in the insole and you’d basically have a classic SB on your hands! Even without this upgrade, these have a nice, simple fit and are comfortable to wear around without hurting!
