This article contains an overall review on the Nike Air Max 95 as well as updates when I get new pairs. The last pair I picked up are the Air Max 95 Japan
How Do Nike Air Max 95 Fit?
When it comes to Air Max 95 sizing, true to size is a good choice. The fit is slightly on the snug side but breaks in quickly to adapt to the wearer’s foot shape.
Overall these are very comfortable underfoot, bringing a casual retro runner base level of support. For those that love retro runners, the fit and feel here will be no surprise for a mid 90s casual shoe. The typical material combo of suede and mesh works perfectly on the model to bring a pliable, breathable upper.
Air Max 95 History
The Air Max 95 originally released in 1995 as a running shoe for larger runners needing max cushioning. The design was created by Sergio Lozano.
Air Max 95s take their visual design cues from human anatomy. In theory, the spine of the shoe represents the human spine and the materials represent skin, ribs, & tendons.
Are The Air Max 95s Good Running Shoes?
Technically, one could run in the AM95. However, the heavier midsole and construction is more suited for casual wear when compared to modern running shoes.
Where To Buy The Nike Air Max 95?
The Air Max 95 can be found on Nike’s website, as well as sneaker boutiques and eBay

Nike Air Max 95 Japan
The Nike Air Max 95 Japan are loosely based on the OG Air Max 95 Comet colorway. The sneaker is also a send up to Japan itself, symbolized by the cherry blossom graphics on the insole. Additional features include various patterns on the side gradient, eyelets, tongue, rear of the shoe and outsole.
The uppers are a combination of sturdy canvas and mesh and a suede eyestay overlay. Overall these are comfortable, although the fit at true to size is very snug. Those with wide feet might want to try a half size up.
