The Infrareds are not the only OG retro AM90 I was looking for. The Nike Air Max 90 Spruce Lime (AKA Air Max III Hot Lime / Spruce) are yet another throwback from Nike way back to the earliest days of the model.
Here’s another colorway I wanted from the OG set, and Nike delivers exactly what we’re looking for with these!
Similar to the the Infrared and Laser Blue colorways, these come in a skinny red and grey Nike box. The box features a throwback boxtag on one side and the current tag on the other. These come with an orange rubbery plastic hangtag, magenta anatomical arch supports and plain flat white laces. Just like the other OG throwback colorways, these feature a retro size tag on the inside of the tongue and have the size indicated inside the ankle. The main difference here is the insole which displays a Nike International logo instead of the regular Nike logo.
How Are The Materials?
There’s nothing mindblowing here, we basically get the recraft level of quality. the bulk of the upper is smooth leather and mesh with a felt swoosh. The materials are feel soft and a step up from non-recraft AM90s, but to be fair the shoe isn’t what I would call a “materials” sneaker. This shoe exists purely to evoke that retro 1990 vibe. In other words, these are adequate for what this shoe is representing.
How Do They Fit?
I went true to size for these Nike Air Max 90 Spruce Lime. I get a 9.5 in most kicks and that’s what I got here. These are very comfortable, especially for longer walks. Nike doesn’t officially say on their site that these have an air unit in the front of the shoe in addition to the bubble in back. However, they still might if they are anything like the Infrared retro. Regardless, these very comfy.
