We’ve seen what $150 of Air Max 90 will get you. Now, lets take it down $10 with these Nike Air Max 90 NRG Crater.
These sneakers are supposedly created using Nike’s new Crater Foam and Nike Grind technology.
These come in a regular orange Nike box and include plain flat white laces. The laces seem a little bit higher quality than normal, but otherwise there’s nothing extra that comes with the shoe.
The colorway is really what sold me on these, but the sustainability makes me feel even more excited about this pickup. Overall I can recommend these to those that are environment-conscious and/or those that can appreciate a good grey-based color scheme on the Air Max 90
How Are The Materials?
The uppers here seem to be some kind of textile. There’s two different kinds (thick and thin) all over the upper and it appears to be a burlap/canvas looking material on the dark grey parts, while the lighter grey is perhaps a denim or other lightweight textile. The swoosh is a soft but sturdy leather and the tongue and insole are made of a more sturdy, plasticky material. Ambiguous textures are created thanks to the use of Nike Grind materials which are created from Nike’s recycled surplus manufacturing materials. Overall, they seem to merge into a very nice sneaker!
How Do They Fit?
True to size is the way to go for these Nike Air Max 90 NRG Crater. Get whatever you get in most Nikes. These are a little boxy thanks to the large seams created near the toebox. Still these are very comfy, considering they use Crater Foam which amounts to about 12% Nike Grind rubber.
