Even though I just grabbed an anniversary pair, I feel like these Nike Air Max 1 Mars Stone are just as special!
Some folks are calling these “curry 2.0s” based on the colorway being similar to a more well known pair from back in the day. Personally, I’m going with the colorway for the nickname.
These are a little bit tougher to wear than the very similar Desert Sand colorway. The tone of the shoe is a lot more orange in person, but the lighter colors still make these wearable for spring and summer. I’d pair these up with some medium wash denim and maybe a black top or a white tee with another color layered over. I supposed a blue and white top could also work with these.
Good old suede and mesh Air Max 1s. A very classic look with a really dope colorway make this shoe highly recommended. I definitely think these deserve a look if you’re into this model at all!
How Are The Materials?
The materials are basically the same as the Desert Sand pair I mentioned above. The suede’s a bit thicker and rougher than typical sandpaper/felt suede, but I wouldn’t say it’s buttery. It’s not total crap either though. The area on the side panel is more of a nubuck/short-haired suede type of texture which feels fairly cheap. The mesh and the leather on the swoosh are decent quality. Again, AM1s like this are more about the model and colorway than the material quality, which is in this case passable.
How Do They Fit?
The Nike Air Max 1 Mars Stone fit true to size. If you are not used to wearing a snug fit on runners, stay true size. These are very comfortable as the materials have some give in the toebox area.
