The Nike Air Max 1 FB in Silver and Volt is part of a pack of soccer-themed AM1’s, this time based off of a Nike mercurial soccer shoe.
This particular pair pays homage to the colorway used on mercurial boots released for the 2002 World Cup. There are three other colorways in the pack although this is the only pair utilizing metallic silver.
Of course, gotta grab dope Air Max 1s when I see them and this pair is super interesting. While Volt and Silver get used a lot on kicks, the Nike Air Max 1 FB really makes good use of color blocking to create a really eye catching shoe. The icey sole is just the icing on the cake!
How Are The Materials?
These feature suede reminiscent of a tennis ball, some odd metallic mesh and an even odder metallic synthetic textured leather. While the materials are not lush or buttery, the shoe overall is of a good, solid quality. The weird mix of materials and textures really help the shoe stand out, even if they don’t feel high quality suede and leather.
How Do They Fit?
These fit true to size and are surprisingly comfortable. They feel heavy and stiff but actually fit well and are decently cushy. The toebox came looking like a total brick, and even after several rounds of reshaping I was only able to slightly fix it. I’d recommend these to anyone that wants a flashy pair of kicks with interesting textures.
