The Nike Air Max 1 Evergreen is a clean and classic take on the Air Max 1 silhouette. Originally released in 2020, this colorway quickly became a bit of a hassle to grab, but fast forward five years, and I finally scooped a pair on discount. Safe to say, patience paid off.
There’s something about the simplicity of the green, grey, and white that just works. It’s a timeless look that doesn’t try too hard. After missing out the first time, getting these under retail was a no-brainer.
While the shoes might not break any new ground, they’re clean, classic, and easy to wear. That go-to “anniversary” or “OG” style colorblocking of white mesh underlay, grey side panel and mudguard/swoosh in an accent color sets off so many great Air Max 1 colorways.
These come in the classic orange Nike box with white laces. The laces are, annoyingly, the hard-to-keep-tied versions that typically ship with AM1 Anniversary releases. All in all though, we get a simple presentation that matches the no-frills vibe of the shoe.
Materials
Nothing groundbreaking here. Nike kept it classic with the standard felt and mesh combo. The mesh is similar to other Anniversary pairs as far as how the tongue and toebox look vs your typical AM1 release. But overall, if you’ve worn Air Max 1s before, you already know what to expect. While it’s not hitting premium territory, it’s solid enough for a daily wear pair. Straightforward materials for a straightforward shoe.
Fit & Comfort
True to size is the move with these. Comfort is exactly what you’d expect from an Air Max 1—nothing too plush. Whether you’re rocking them on a casual day out or throwing them on for errands, they’re solid.
If these are sold out online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
