Finally got some gumsole AF1s back on feet. This time around I’m going with these Nike Air Force 1 Outdoor Green. The shoes came out alongside two other all suede joints with the gum mid/outsole in black and tan.
These released in Fall 2017, which explains the foresty vibe of the shoe. I think some dark blue denim or even black pants will work well with these. Pair that with either a black top or a white top with black or grey layering. I happen to have a green and black hoodie that should work well with these!
This is a dangerous time because once I get on AF1s, I can see myself buying like 5-6 pairs before I finally switch out. They’re always on sale and they look great. I’m especially happy that I found what size I should get in these, as I’ve tried a number of different options. This is also my first reshape on this model. Definitely going to be featuring some more AF1 pickups soon!
How Are The Materials?
These feature a mix of suedes on the upper. The quality on these far surpasses the black/gum pair I used to have. That said, the materials are still fairly average. There is a decent quality suede on most of the upper, fairly soft with the desired light/dark color change if you rub it. The swoosh and tongue feature a felt-like suede which is not as good and the tongue tag and backtab are a smooth nubuck/suede type of material.
How Do They Fit?
These Nike Air Force 1 Outdoor Green fit big per typical AF1s. I went down a full size and I think that this is the first time AF1s have fit me perfectly. Thus, I recommend half or full size down on AF1s depending on your foot shape. I did do a bit of reshaping to remove the boxiness on the toe.
