The Footscape is a running shoe that dropped in 1995 and featured the lacing on the side instead of up top to benefit people with wide feed. While the Nike Air Footscape Desert Chukka Black puts the lacing back on top, that doesn’t mean that people with wider feet will find these uncomfortable!
These shoes are admittedly kind of random, but they look great on feet! The unique blend of materials and outsole make for a sleek, lightweight shoe. While a lot of people slept on these, they still eventually sold out!
Towards the beginning of 2014, monochromatic shoes were in and these dropped alongside a tan pair and a burgundy pair. These are so dope, I wish I had copped the other 2 colorways!
How Are The Materials?
These consist of a woven upper with leather around the eyelets and on the insole. The materials on these are very unique and super dope. Nike has been using woven uppers randomly on kicks for a while. I think it all comes together to make a really great quality shoe.
How Do They Fit?
Nike Air Footscape Desert Chukka Black fit true to size and are insanely comfortable! This was my first pair of Footscapes, and it made me want to grab some other pairs just based off the comfort. These look great on foot too, with a nice pointy toe. Although they look bulky in hand, on foot they look very sleek. Besides looks, these are also very lightweight and the materials make them very breathable. I highly recommend these as an entry-level pair of Footscapes that look close enough to a regular runner so as not to be off-putting, but give all the benefits of a woven shoe.
