I’ve been grabbing some Multicolor New Balance lately, but I wanted something a little more lowkey for fall. Today’s pickup are these New Balance 1300 in tan and orange.
This is a good time to review the 1300 overall. The model first released in 1984-85 and at the time was the most expensive sneaker released at $130 (today’s equivalent: $300)
This particular example colorway ships in a grey New Balance Made In USA box and include a paper Made in USA tag. They come laced up with flat white laces. Nothing else is included with the sneaker. Oddly, mine came with a Made in USA tag on both sneakers instead of just one. Not sure if that’s standard for these or just a production error.
It’s been a long time since I had a pair of 1300s and luckily some new pairs released and didn’t get snatched up right away. I figure these tan/orange kicks are perfect for fall although I wish the tan part was a little brighter like the pics on some websites. Still, this is yet another quality release from the brand.
How Are The Materials?
These deliver! The Made in USA level of materials is definitely on display. The orange and tan parts of the sneaker deliver that soft buttery suede that I have come to expect when I shell out over $150 with the brand. Meanwhile, the N logo and other white hits around the sneaker use a smooth leather with 3M applied. Overall, these are great materials and totally worth the retail ticket.
This level of quality is there on most pairs of MiUSA 1300s. Buy with confidence!
How Do They Fit?
These New Balance 1300 are comfy in a snug way at true to size. Since I like the pointy toe look on retro runners, the 1300 shape is almost perfection!
