The neoprene laced, socklike fit of the Huarache was apparently inspired by water skiing. Tinker Hatfield, the shoe’s creator, also had the idea to create a minimalistic, lightweight runner/trainer. Thus, no big, easy to see swoosh on the side.
While many find the Huarache to fit snug, I don’t think it takes away from the comfort if you can get the sizing right. Additionally, newer releases seem to have a nice, cushy midsole that I don’t remember from earlier editions I had bought in my collecting career. I’ve owned a few pairs though, with reviews on most.
