Nike SB Gold Box
Some of my favorites from the Gold Box era include Lobsters and Skate or Dies. Overall we started getting some very “different” ideas as far as how wacky the inspirations for the shoes could get.
This trend really started during the Black Box era, but came into it’s own during the Gold Box timeframe.
Some claim that the quality had begun it’s downhill descent during this time. However, the materials from this era are still soft and lush compared to today’s releases. If anything, I’d say it was the QC that had been taken down a notch vs the Black Box period.
This is the time that I came into the sneaker collecting world! I will never forget getting my first pair of SB Dunks to kick off the collection – the Newcastles.
