Nike SB Blue Box
Many cite the Blue Box era as the beginning of the first downfall of Nike SB in terms of hype and popularity. After some of the classic Gold Box pairs had released, it didn’t seem like there was much in the tank during this time. We did however get some great pairs like Skunks, Blue Lobsters and Loons
The comfort and material quality here did take a hit when compared to the previous eras. During this time Nike began experimenting with the fit, optimizing the sneaker further as a tech shoe. We also got some of the first thin tongue SB Dunk Lows, which rubbed many fans the wrong way initially.
Nike SB came in the blue boxes from 4/2009 – 6/2012
