The quality and popularity of various releases in the Jordan line of sneakers has varied over time. When I first started collecting, lot of my early pickups besides SB Dunks were Air Jordans.
While my tastes may have changed as far as what I wear day to day and what I find comfortable, there’s no denying that people still love Jordans. The sneaker line is inextricably tied to sneaker culture in general. You can’t collect kicks and not notice the impact and permanence of the Air Jordan retro.
Fit and Technology
While newer Js probably make great basketball sneakers, this site focuses mostly on older models. The Jordan retro speaks more to the collector, generally speaking.
With that said, we are often talking about sneakers with technology that is decades old. Therefore, in general, one should not approach picking up a pair of Jordans as an exercise in comfort. These are not Adidas Ultraboosts!
Instead, collectors tend to focus on the aesthetics, hype, history and stories behind each model and release. That is the magic of the Jordan retro – an ability to tie all these things together to create a legitimate product that appeals to people in many walks of life. Being able to do all this despite the sneakers not boasting the latest cushioning or innovations really speaks to the marketing genius of Nike and Jordan Brand.
In any case, read on to get more information and/or reviews on this popular series of sneakers!
