This is my first pair from this brand, normally known for the Olajuwon shoe. The Bait x Etonic Trans Am Sunrise is part of a Horizon Pack collab between the two brands.
These came with two extra sets of laces.
Navy & Orange are a favorite combination of mine. It’s one of the few combos where matching the blue actually works out. Khakis and browns match well with a shoe like this, as well as white tees and medium wash denim. The shade of blue is a tad too dark to easily pull off black or other really dark denim, so I would stick with pants that contrast a bit in tone.
I opted for these over the other pair in the collab based on the mesh toebox. Thus, these definitely fit in with the current retro runner collection madness phase that I’m in. If obscure runners are of interest to you, these definitely satisfy that requirement. For a collector, the collab aspect adds to the coolness with these, as Bait is a well-known sneaker retail store.
How Are The Materials?
The materials on these are decent. Compared to other Trans Ams I’ve seen, these are a bit beefier looking. The suede is not super buttery but seems to be of a good quality, and I’m not spotting any QC items on the shoe. This is pretty rare for a shoe that retails at $60.
How Do They Fit?
These Bait x Etonic Trans Am Sunrise fit true to size. I find these to only be snug for the first couple of minutes (and this is thanks to the beefiness mentioned earlier). They break in quick and are actually really comfortable! I find them to look a tad clunky in hand thanks to the contoured midsole and bulked up materials. On foot though, they display a nice clean shape with a beautiful slope to the toebox.
