I guess I’m a fan of the Flight Nostalgia Pack. I knew these, Air Jordan 4 Flight Nostalgia reminded me of something, and it turns out I’m not crazy!
The whole point of the pack is to homage older Tinker Hatfield sneakers, and these are either a throwback to the Air Tech Challenge 2 Hot Lava or an old colorway of SC Trainer (sources online seem to differ on the actual influence).
These basically work similar to other white kicks with black and infrared-ish accents. Basically These will look good with just about anything in an outfit. Dark or light wash denim, joggers, khaki colored denim, grey pants, you name it, it can work with these thanks to the mostly white and black upper. As usual with shoes containing bright accents, I like to keep a minimal/basic outfit to draw more attention to the pops of color on feet. I think regardless of pants choice, a black top is a simple and easy way to finish off the look.
How Are The Materials on the Flight Nostalgia 4s?
These use the crinkly textured “crumpled paper” looking leather on the upper. This is similar to the Turbo Green Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 6 Flint.
However, the leather seems a lot thicker and rigid on these, typical for an Air Jordan 4 with leather uppers. Also, the leather seems to have additional actual tumble in addition to the tumbled texturing added. It’s like tumble on tumble! Therefore I’d say the materials are passable on these and maybe even slightly better than some other similar J’s that have release recently. One cool feature is that the splatter effect on the shoe appears to be painted over the base of the shoe and is actually raised a bit, which adds texture as well as looks.
How Do The Air Jordan 4 Flight Nostalgia Fit?
The Air Jordan 4 Flight Nostalgia fit snug and are not terribly comfortable out of the box. After some break in this usually improves.
I’ll admit, I do tend to struggle with Jordan 4s VS my foot shape. I went true to my Nike size, and I wish I had gone up a half size from that as these do contact my pinky toe. I’ll have to wear a bandaid to protect my pinky when I sport these around. There is still a good amount of room lengthwise, but the issue for me is my pinky toes contact the inside of the shoe at a point where a bunch of the layers meet, so I think they are hitting a seam or something. In any case, I can’t recommend these for comfort, but they look great on feet!
This was me trying once again with 4s, which have been my nemesis on Jordans for a while. I love how they look and hate how they feel on feet. That said, I definitely would rock these if I wasn’t going to be doing a lot of standing or walking, as they look great! At the same time, I probably won’t be stocking up on too many 4s, unless I remember to go up in size to accomodate my pinky toes.
