I haven’t reviewed a pair of 13s in a long time! I’m slowly building a Jordan collection back up, now including these Air Jordan 13 Starfish.
The shoes get their name from the colorway. They are also given the “Shattered Backboard” nickname by some due to the color pallette being similar to the series of 1s of the same name.
These come in a special silver Air Jordan 13 box that mimics the OG box and include white skinny round laces. Otherwise there are no extras or features with the shoe.
A while back I sold off all my 13s so I’m glad to finally get a pair back in the collection. I’m definitely going to be more open minded about future colorways if they have at least this minimum of quality.
How Are The Materials?
I have always found 13s to be a decent quality Jordan retro and these are no exception. While the leather is a bit stiffm it also seems reasonably thick and sturdy and has a good grain finish applied. This leather feels ok to the touch and is somewhat matte which I prefer over a glossy finish. The suede is indeed the felt suede, no backstroke but it is at least soft. Overall I feel like these are a solidly built pair of 13s with acceptable materials for a general release Jordan retro.
How Do They Fit?
These fit true to size. I do a size 10 in most Nikes like Air Jordan 1s, 3s, Air Maxes, etc. I got my regular size 10 and these fit fine. The Jordan 13 is in my opinion one of the more comfortable Jordans. These in my opinion follow in that tradition and seem to fit my particular foot shape perfectly.
