Nike ID’s are the best! I’ve reviewed one of my other AF1 ID’s on here before, but I think these Air Force 1 ID Brainwreck are my best work on Nike ID.
I actually had a pair of Brainwreck SB’s back in the day but they killed my feet! Todd Bratrud rarely disappoints on the colorways, and it is unfortunate that those dunks don’t fit my feet correctly. However, these AF1s pretty much achieve the same thing, and are maybe a bit better overall!
These days, the Nike ID program is called Nike By You.
It seems like for the most part Nike really does a better job on ID’s than they do on regular releases. Or at least, they did back in 2012 when I made these. I highly recommend looking into Nike ID’s if you are having trouble getting a colorway on a shoe or just want something a little more personalized.
How Are The Materials?
The quality on these definitely beats that found on the actual Brainwreck SB’s. They don’t have the puffy “brain” liner or cool writing on the back, but they do have way better suede. The suede on these is so buttery (unlike other ID’s I’ve reviewed). The leather has a nice grain to it and is of better quality than I’ve seen on most other AF1s, period. Since the OG Brainwrecks had a textured swoosh, I went with the “Tech Tuff” option on the swoosh here.
How Do They Fit?
The Air Force 1 ID Brainwreck fit big like other AF1s. Either that, or my foot shrunk. In any case, my only complaint is that I should have gotten a half size smaller. Otherwise, these are very comfortable.
