Clearly, I’m not stopping with the retro runner collection. One pair I’m really excited about are these Adidas Quesence Grey Two & Shock Pink.
The shoes are a retro of an early 90s runner and I believe were at one time a women’s release. Now, they are available for any gender to wear and have released in this OG version as well as some new colorways.
When I see grey and pink, I think possibilities! For spring, I’d pair these up with some light wash denim and a grey top for an easy look. In the colder months, black pants and a black top with some white accents or layering can create an interesting look. Either type of outfit allows the pink and white to pop on the shoe.
I’m seriously loving this model. I could see myself picking up every colorway based on the blocking and shape alone. If you are into retro runners and find the Iniki Boost a bit pricey or too “modern”, these are definitely a good choice for a pickup.
How Are The Materials?
These have an acceptable level of materials. The suede is thick if not buttery. Not the softest, but at least has the “look” of quality. The leather seems passable, and I love the 3M hit on the back. Overall “vintaged” shoes are supposed to have a certain look to them which doesn’t translate to modern, lush suedes and leathers. I wouldn’t pick these up expecting top notch materials, and so these are a pleasant surprise with a decent quality level.
How Do They Fit?
These Adidas Quesence Grey Two & Shock Pink fit true to size, with plenty of give for sizing down if desired. Suede and mesh toeboxes and a killer shape combine to form a shoe that looks and feels awesome on foot. These provide just as good of comfort as any other retro runner, and the on-foot look is perfection!
