Here’s a new model that emulates models of the past. These Adidas Haven Mystery Red do a great job of capturing that 80s runner look.
The shoe gets its nickname from the colorway.
This is another versatile pair that can work with either dark or light pants easily. Basically, build your fit from the bottom up and choose your top based on what direction you went with the pants. A grey top should work no matter what you pair these with.
I’m a big fan of the Adidas Haven after this, and I like how it’s a new model that evokes all the feels of the older 80s runners. I’m definitely looking forward to more colorways and more kicks like this from Adidas. It would be cool to see similar lines without gimmicky 4D/Futurecraft or boost additions for a truly classic feel.
How Are The Materials?
The materials on not mind blowing but they are decent. The suede is somewhat soft if not “vintaged” up a bit. The Adidas stripes are a smooth leather and the mesh seems to be thick and of good quality. Overall I find the materials on this vintage-styled pair to be superior to that found on the ZX 500 OG, which is a retro of an actual vintage pair.
How Do They Fit?
These Adidas Haven Mystery Red fit roomy at true to size and are very comfortable. I wish I’d have gotten a half size down as that is my fit preference for shoes like this, however that size was not available when I was tracking down this colorway to add to the collection. That said, these hold their shape even at a larger size just based on the overall construction of the shoe, which is what drew me to this pair initially.
