While I haven’t fully embraced Adidas runners yet, I still pick up shoes from the brand. My most recent acquisition are these Adidas Busenitz Scarlet White, which stood out to me based on price and colorway.
In terms of the Busenitz model, these switch up the materials just a tad (more on that below).
At one point, I was featured in the print edition of issue #47 of Solecollector magazine for my Busenitz collection. Ironically, many of those pairs are now sold but I’m building the collection back up! I like the unique tongue on the shoe and the look of the toebox.
Overall, I think these are a great pair of Busenitz that change things up enough to make them unique, even with the fairly standard colorway. The hits of silver and 3M help brighten up an otherwise ordinary pair!
How Are The Materials?
The materials on these are interesting if not premium. The suede is fairly sandpaperish but the smooth leather appears to be of decent quality. What’s really interesting here is the mesh all along the side, which I haven’t seen on pairs of these until recently. Last but not least, there’s a nice hit of 3M along the bottom towards the rear of the shoe. This elevates the material combination to 4 different textures on one shoe.
How Do They Fit?
The Adidas Busenitz Scarlet White fit true to size and are really comfortable. These are skate shoes that are built to take a beating, so they’re not going to be super lightweight. I rather enjoy the sturdy feel on this model, although the mesh on the side does eliminate a tiny bit of bulk from the shoe.
