It’s been a minute since I rocked some GR N9000s, but these Diadora N9000 Cockatoo have such an ill colorway, I had to get them on feet ASAP.
I have no idea what year these came out but they get their name from the colorway and are part of the NYL II subline of N9000s. These may have released in a pack with a coral colorway that I used to own.
For some reason I feel like light wash denim could work here. Still, a safer bet is either khakis, or dark blue/black denim. The grey and white elements mean either a grey or white top can help complete the look with these.
Sometimes I just need to scratch the collector itch and a new pair of N9000 seemed in order. Hunting around for a nice deal on a GR led me to these and I’m glad I picked them up, as I’ve never seen a shoe with this combination of colors. Actually, Diadora in general tends to have good mixes of odd colorways and are a good look for something different in the collection.
How Are The Materials?
The materials include suede and mesh for the most part. The Diadora striping on the side seems to be an odd puffy type of leather typical on these types of Diadoras. From what I’ve seen, the NYL pairs of N9000 tend to have a bit more basic materials and I don’t think these are made in Italy like more premium pairs. Overall the suede is a bit rough and I would say the materials are passable at best.
How Do They Fit?
These Diadora N9000 Cockatoo fit a little big so I went my typical half size down for a perfect fit. The shoes are super comfortable and the shape is decent right out of the box! I did do a bit of a reshape on these as pictured, just to get them extra pointy! I’ve never been disappointed comfort-wise on GR N9000s.
