Anyone that follows my blog knows I’m a Saucony fiend, and the 5000 is one of my favorite models. These Saucony Shadow 5000 Bodega Teal are one of my latest pickups and I couldn’t wait to get them on feet and do this review!
I feel like Saucony as a brand is still slept on, which is why I was able to get this collab for retail rather than paying astronomical resell prices. The collaboration in this case is with streetwear boutique Bodega and celebrates the “Elite” level of Sauconys. This colorway originally released in 2010 and so these can be considered both a collab and a retro!
I actually am having trouble finding something that sets off the teal perfectly. In this case I’m opting for some neutral tones, so I wound up throwing these on with a grey longsleeve t-shirt from Supreme layered over an elongated white tee and some light blue jeans. I think these could go with some khakis or darker denim too, although I couldn’t find the proper top in my wardrobe to set it all off.
How Are The Materials?
Similar to other Shadow 5000 collabs, these have an all suede upper. The quality is insane on these. The suede is thick and buttery. I’m so debating copping the other colorway (which features blue instead of teal) just off the strength of the materials alone! Suede fiends will not be disappointed in these.
How Do They Fit?
These fit true to size and are very comfortable. I probably could have gone down a half size on the Saucony Shadow 5000 Bodega Teal and still been ok. The suede and mesh toebox provides lots of comfortable give while still having a nice pointy shape. If you are into retro runners with great materials and an eye-catching colorway, you should definitely look into copping a pair of these!
