Ok so off the rip, Huaraches aren’t gonna be everyone’s flavor. Still, the Nike Air Huarache Action Green for me were clean enough to warrant copping.
They get their name from the colorway and honestly aren’t too far off from the classic Scream Green colorway. As I mentioned when I reviewed that colorway, these are a Tinker Hatfield-designed shoe and are conceptually based off of a sandal (i.e. the minimalistic approach).
I’m not as big of a Huarache fan as some, and I feel like these are definitely bigger in Europe than in the US, but they do fall in the “comes in tons of colors and always has new colorways dropping” category. Also, they frequently go on sale, so if you are looking for an interesting shoe that’s affordable and that not everyone will have, definitely consider the Air Huarache.
How Are The Materials?
Meh. These are mostly mesh and neoprene, so those elements are fine. The synthetic leather and rubber are standard GR quality. So, these aren’t exactly a premium release – I’d base copping any GR Huarache off the colorway more than the materials. At least the leather feels smooth to the touch rather than plasticky.
How Do They Fit?
The Nike Air Huarache Action Green fit snug at true to size, but are not uncomfortable. If you don’t like a snug fit, go up half a size. The shape is a little blocky around the toebox, but you can easily reshape these. All in all, I think these have a comfortable feel to them once you get used to how they fit. Neoprene tongue/bootie type fits are not uncommon, but they have a more snug feel since they hug your foot a little more closely.
