You’re about to start seeing a lot of NB on All About Anthony because I just went HAM copping pairs – like these New Balance 998 Rockabilly.
These are based off of a 1950s rockabilly design. This really comes into focus with the checkerboard print on the insole and overall color scheme. The appeal for me with New Balance are the premium materials. The only issue I have is that premium, made in America kicks have a price to match! Fortunately, nice pairs like these creep down in price over time and become somewhat affordable.
Made in the USA NB’s? You know the materials are super nice on these! I can’t say enough about how lush the suede is, and the rest of the leather, mesh and 3M used on the shoe are all on par. New Balance really leads the way with respect to materials and quality on its retro casual runner line. These definitely earn an A on materials!
The New Balance 998 Rockabilly are extremely comfortable. I’ve read that they fit some people big, and while I do feel like I could have sized down a half size, these still feel like they fit well at true size. Regardless, the shape and comfort on these is notable and as always I feel that NB has done a good job creating a total package of materials, fit and comfort with these.
