Been a while since I pulled out some Roshes but it’s raining today! Enter these Nike Roshe One Midnight Navy.
I’m sure these are the opposite of a good call for a rainproof shoe, but they’re cheap and easy to get, which for a collector means they make good beaters! As with other pairs of basic Roshe colorways, these are ubiquitous and are typically sold everywhere.
These contain none of the fancy materials of Roshe NMs – they are straight up mesh on top of a midsole. The mesh is well constructed and the shoes are solidly built, so other than that, I really can’t comment on material quality as these are made out of the simplest, most basic elements needed to construct a shoe. I will comment that the insoles on Roshes are apparently suited for barefoot wear, although I definitely wouldn’t try it on a rainy day like today!
The Nike Roshe One Midnight Navy are nice and comfortable. Given that the shoe is so basic, it better be! The sole isn’t particularly cushy – rather you get the more solid support of a pair of Air Max. These fit true to size, going down a size in shoes like these mean your toes will be obviously poking out of the mesh!
