Remastered Air Jordans are dropping left and right. The Air Jordan 8 Aqua is an original colorway, so when these were set to drop again, they were hyped up and highly anticipated.
Previous retros had omitted the light grey areas of the shoe and the glitter on the midsole but the OG’s had those features and this pair sticks with the OG makeup.
I always see people matching up 8s with crazy multicolor outfits. The shoes are already crazy enough! Instead, go with a muted outfit for the cleanest look. Black and white fits work great with these. A splash of blue is ok, but keep it minimal and don’t overdo it!
The reception was lukewarm on these due to a high volume being available. These weren’t as limited as most collectors and resellers would have liked, which is great for people like me that always wanted a new pair of Aquas without the hassle of grabbing them on the second hand market.
How Are The Materials?
Nice soft suede and nubuck cover this shoe. The tongue graphic has a bit of a chenille/terry type feel to it. Overall the materials are really nice on this shoe. My pair didn’t have any factory defects, glue marks or anything like that. I’d say that these are definitely worth the money in terms of quality – the build is solid and the materials are nice and buttery.
How Do They Fit?
These fit true to size and are very comfortable. My only issues with 8s (and why the Air Jordan 8 Aqua is my only pair right now) are the weight and lack of ventilation. Seeing as these are retros, I’m not expecting a flyknit lunar 3 level of performance, but on the other hand I wouldn’t seek these out if I needed to be active at all. This shoe is straight up for posting/chilling in.
