The Nike SB Dunk Low Aluminum is a dope colorway that fits right into the Purple Box era lineup. Unlike exclusive Orange Label drops, this one is a standard general release, making it a bit easier to track down—at least for now.
The pair gets its name from the colorway and is otherwise free of any overt inspiration as far as I am aware. That doesn’t mean that the colorway is uninspired though!
I picked these up purely based on the colorway. After seeing on-foot pics online, I knew I had to grab a pair. The mix of black, soft blues and neutral tones makes the shoe very wearable in my opinion.
These come in the usual purple SB box, with two sets of included laces. One pair is a very light bluish-grey with university blue aglets, while the other is university blue with black aglets.
Materials
Nike went with an all-suede upper for this release. While not the most buttery suede ever, it still feels premium and well-constructed. The overall quality holds up to what you’d expect from an SB Dunk.
Fit & Comfort
If you’ve worn SB Dunks before, the fit is exactly what you’d expect—snug at true to size. If you like a little extra room, going up half a size isn’t a bad idea. This is generally what I do.
The Zoom Air cushioning in the heel is standard, providing a responsive level of comfort whether you’re skating or just wearing them casually. I usually don’t feel that much from the Zoom Air, but the insole itself is comfy enough for walking around in.
If these are sold out in skate shops or online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
