I’ve just reviewed the UNLV lows and now, I’m going back in time a few months with these Nike Dunk High Michigan!
These are a retro of an original colorway of the Nike dunk, and has retro’d in both highs and lows over the years, including 2003. They get their name from the college team colors that they are based off of.
These ship in the plain orange Nike Sportswear box. They also come with 3 lace choices: yellow, white and navy. Otherwise there are no other extras or features with these.
There’s not a lot to this sneaker, but as a fan of dunks, it’s a must to have this colorway in the collection. I had forgotten how good the yellow pops agains the navy in this color pallette. I highly recommend picking up a pair of these.
How Are The Materials?
The upper is basically all leather except for the mesh tongue. Quality here is actually not bad, especially compared to the UNLV pair I just reviewed. The leather seems somewhat soft and plush by comparison, although the QC is a little rough around the edges. Overall I’m happy with the degree of leather we got here. You can see a grain that appears more natural vs the overtumbled finish Nike likes to use sometimes.
How Do They Fit?
These Nike Dunk High Michigan fit true to size for me. These feel comfy on feet, and a bit less thin and stiff vs the recent UNLV dunk low release I’ve been referencing. All in all I find these to have that basic, classic dunk fit and comfort when wearing.
