As you know if you follow this blog or Youtube channel, I’ve been all about the retro runners lately. Usually I go elsewhere besides Nike due to price, but these Nike Air Span II Laser Blue are a definite exception to the rule.
The shoe originally came out in the early 90s and this pair is a retro of an original colorway.
Immediately “light colors” come to mind when putting together an outfit with this shoe. I’d go with khakis, light or medium wash denim. Pair that with a grey or white top and you’re good to go. A simple runner with a simple grey/light blue color scheme like this screams spring/summer. Keep that in mind when assembling your ensemble.
I never even heard of these before this year to be honest. I’m glad they released though! I like it when I get a chance to grab some kicks out of the Nike archives without worrying about them falling apart due to age. I can expand my retro knowledge and get a comfy, cool looking, vintage pair at retail!
How Are The Materials?
The materials on these are ok. They are a little better than typical Nike Sportswear quality. That said, the suede, leather and mesh that comprise the uppers are not bad either – just ok. I was expecting sandpaper suede and plastic leather and instead I got soft (if not lush/buttery) suede and decent leather. Materials fiends may want to skip on these but most will find the quality acceptable.
How Do They Fit?
These Nike Air Span II Laser Blue definitely fit true to size. The suede on the side allows just enough give to not make these hurt and now they feel like they fit like a glove!
